Air TransportNigeria’s Air Peace took delivery of its first Embraer E190 on Sunday, June 22. The aircraft, registration 5N-CEF, landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and is expected to enter service soon.
According to the carrier, another E190 will be delivered in July, also with 118 single-class seats.
“This newest addition will further expand our reach, enhance comfort, and strengthen our commitment to seamless travel across all our domestic and regional operations,” Air Peace celebrated.

Despite the optimism, the second-hand E190s are being leased due to the problems the airline is having with five new E195-E2s, received directly from Embraer.
The aircraft, configured with 124 seats in two classes, began to be grounded in February of last year. The last of the jets that was in service was taken out of service in January of this year.

Among the reasons are bird strikes and problems with the Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, which require repairs by the manufacturer.
Air Peace has 13 E195-E2s on order and received the five aircraft in 2021. Since then, there have been no more deliveries, despite the order remaining listed in Embraer’s portfolio.
Founded in 2013, Air Peace is a private airline and currently has a very diverse fleet of 30 aircraft.

There are two Airbus A320s, ten Boeing 737s (seven 737-700s and three 737-500s), four 777s (two 777-200s and two 777-300s) and eight ERJ 145s, in addition to the E2s and the single E190.
Twelve of the jets, however, are reportedly grounded, including four 737s, two 777s, one ERJ 145 and the five E195-E2s.
