Airbus has announced the first major commercial aircraft order of the 2025 Paris Air Show with a deal signed with Saudi Arabia’s AviLease.

The lessor, which recently placed its first order with Boeing, has placed an initial order for 10 A350F freighters and 30 A320neo family jets.

The deal also includes purchase options for an additional 12 A350Fs and 25 A320neos, Airbus said.

“We are proud to establish an Airbus order book, strengthening our position as a full-service, investment grade global lessor. The addition of these latest generation aircraft enhances our ability to offer modern, fuel-efficient fleet solutions to our airline partners in Saudi Arabia and around the world,” commented Edward O’Byrne, CEO of AviLease.

“We are delighted to welcome AviLease as Airbus’ latest customer with this significant order for the all new A350F and leading A320neo Family”, said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business.

The A350F is a freighter based on the A350-900 and A350-1000 models and is expected to carry around 111 tonnes of cargo over distances of up to 4,700 nm (8,700 km). It is expected to enter service from 2027.

The A320neo family currently has more than 11,000 orders, of which less than 4,000 aircraft had been delivered as of May.

Therefore, it remains to be seen when AviLease will receive its first jets with such a long waiting list.
