Air TransportAirbus employees in the United Kingdom have voted in favor of a strike lasting up to ten days in September, after rejecting the company’s pay offer. The announcement was made by the Unite union on Wednesday (August 20).
More than 3,000 workers participated in the ballot at the Broughton (Wales) and Filton (near Bristol) sites, which are essential for producing wings for the A320, A330, and A350 families. Approximately 90% voted in favor of the industrial action.
The strikes are scheduled to occur in three phases: September 2–3, September 10–11, and from September 15 onward, with the possibility of additional dates depending on shift patterns.
The union argued that the company’s proposal does not align with the rising cost of living in the UK, where inflation reached 3.8% in July, the highest in 18 months.
Airbus responded by noting that it has already granted pay increases exceeding 20% over the past three years, and paid a £2,644 bonus in April 2025.
The company added that it does not expect the strike to affect aircraft deliveries this year.
