Air TransportInternational Airlines Group (IAG) has announced a partnership to install Starlink high-speed wi-fi on more than 500 aircraft across its airlines, with service introduction planned for 2026.
The agreement will see British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and Vueling fleets equipped for improved inflight connectivity, covering both short-haul and long-haul operations including transatlantic and global routes.
This initiative aligns with IAG’s broader digital transformation program, which focuses on deploying technologies to enhance customer experience during flights.

According to IAG, the new service will allow download and upload speeds comparable to, or exceeding, those available in home internet environments.
“Staying connected in the skies is increasingly important to our airlines’ customers. The introduction of high-speed wi-fi from Starlink will transform onboard connectivity, improving both the connection speed and reliability for customers,” said Luis Gallego, CEO of IAG.
IAG aims to become the European airline group with the largest fleet equipped with high-speed wi-fi, reflecting the growing expectation for reliable internet access among passengers.
The use of SpaceX’s satellite network has been growing among airlines due to its low latency and high speed. United Airlines, for example, has been equipping all of its aircraft with Starklink since the middle of the year.
