Horizon Air, regional Alaska Airlines, should have received two new 76 -seat Embraer E175 jets in May, but aircraft did not leave Brazil, where they are manufactured.
The reason is that the Seattle-based airline fears that import fares announced by US President Donald Trump, increase and force it to be an unresented extra cost.
According to Alaska told The Seattle Times, the carrier will not accept additional rates imposed on tariffs, which today are 10% in the case of several countries, including Brazil, where Embraer is headquartered.
Fustrated deliveries, on the other hand, forced Alaska Air to cancel scheduled summer flights due to lack of aircraft.

The company has no other E175 jets scheduled for this year, so its fleet will remain with 87 aircraft, 45 from Horizon and 42 operated by Skywest Airlines.
Boeing’s great client, Alaska hopes to host seven 737 Max and a 787, this for Hawaiian Airlines, which was recently acquired by the group.
Unlike Alaska, the low cost carrier Spirit Airlines depends solely on Airbus aircraft.
The floria -based company fears, therefore, that the tariffs imposed for European products can rise and thus make their orders from A320neo family aircraft unfeasible.
In a document sent to the US Real Estate Commission, Spirit reports the negative impact of tariffs, which can reach 20% after the end of a 90 -day break scheduled for July.

The airline, which has just emerged from Chapter 11, evaluates postponing or even canceling the delivery of some aircraft due to the extra cost and the uncertain economic environment.
Airbus should deliver four A320neo family jets to Spirit in 2025, part of an order from 92 aircraft scheduled by 2031.
