Angola acquires three C295 turboprops from Airbus
The government of the Republic of Angola is the new customer for the Airbus C295 turboprop. The European manufacturer announced on Thursday an agreement for the supply of three aircraft, which will be used in transport missions and also for maritime surveillance.
Two of the C295s will be used for search and rescue (SAR) operations, illegal fishing and border control, natural disaster support and intelligence gathering missions, among others tasks. Both will have the FITS (Fully Integrated Tactical System) mission system.
The third aircraft will have a multi-mission transport configuration. All of them will be equipped with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion avionics suite.
The National Air Force of Angola is the 38th customer for the aircraft made in Spain. Airbus, however, did not provide a timeline for the delivery of the first aircraft.
