Avianca Cargo has expanded its fleet with a new A330P2F freighter, bringing the total number of Airbus A330 cargo aircraft operated by the company to nine.

The latest aircraft, registered N342AV, was converted in the United States and previously flew with the carrier in passenger configuration.

With the arrival of this A330P2F, Avianca Cargo now operates six A330F factory freighters and three A330P2F converted freighters. The P2F, or ‘Passenger to Freighter’, conversion allows the aircraft to carry over 60 tonnes of cargo per flight.

The A330P2F offers enhanced fuel efficiency and increased cargo capacity compared to older widebodies, and is well-suited for medium-haul routes. The converted aircraft typically feature a reinforced floor and large cargo doors to accommodate containers and pallets.

Avianca Cargo serves over 350 destinations globally, using its fleet to transport a variety of goods. In 2025, the company handled more than 100,000 tonnes of flowers from Ecuador and Colombia to markets in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

The continuous expansion of the A330 freighter fleet reflects ongoing demand for air cargo capacity in Latin America, especially for perishable exports.
