U.S.-based aircraft lessor Azorra has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement with JetBlue Airways for the acquisition of 13 Embraer E190 airframes and 36 CF34-10E6 engines, expanding its portfolio of regional jets.

Deliveries began in July and will continue through the second quarter of 2026, coinciding with JetBlue’s plan to phase out its E190 fleet, potentially by September, as the airline shifts to a more modern lineup of Airbus A220s.

“We’re excited to once again partner with JetBlue on this transaction, which reinforces our commitment to the Embraer E-Jet family,” said John Evans, CEO of Azorra.

Azorra is strengthening its role in the market for mid-life E-Jets, supporting carriers looking for affordable and flexible aircraft solutions.

The addition of CF34 engines with usable green time also gives the lessor more options to serve operators in need of short- to medium-term powerplants.

JetBlue, for its part, is using the deal to extract value from its aging E190 fleet, currently with nine aircraft remaining in service.

“This agreement enables us to efficiently monetize a portion of our E190 assets,” said Dmitry Kopylov, VP of Strategic Sourcing & Fleet at JetBlue.

The aircraft are expected to continue operating globally under new leases, as demand for regional jets remains solid in domestic and short-haul markets.
