Air TransportBoeing will return its 777-9 widebody aircraft to the airshow circuit this month, with one of the program’s five flight-test aircraft scheduled to perform a flying display at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
The widebody’s appearance marks its first major public showing since Boeing held back its 777X test fleet from events such as Farnborough and Paris in recent years, as the manufacturer focused on resolving certification issues with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The company now targets entry into service in 2027.
Alongside the 777-9, Boeing’s commercial lineup in Dubai will include an Emirates 777-300ER, an Aloula 737-800, several 737 MAX aircraft operated by flydubai and Kazakhstan’s SCAT Airlines, a Royal Jet 737 BBJ, and a 737-800 freighter from SolitAir. Cargo carriers Aquiline and Action Aviation will display a 777-200ER and a 737-700 BBJ, respectively.

On the defense side, Boeing will exhibit the F-15 Eagle, CH-47 Chinook, KC-46 Pegasus, AH-64 Apache and C-17 Globemaster III on static display. The U.S. Air Force will also participate in the flying programme with a B-52 Stratofortress and a P-8 Poseidon.
Visitors to the Boeing exhibit will find a full-scale section of the 777X cabin and an F-15EX flight simulator among other interactive displays.
The Dubai Airshow 2025 runs from 10 to 14 November at Al Maktoum International Airport, gathering commercial and defense aerospace participants from around the world.
