Boeing and Qatar Airways closed a massive deal for up to 210 787 Dreamliner and 777X widebody jets on Wednesday in Doha, during an official visit by US President Donald Trump.

The order is the largest ever for the 787, with 130 aircraft. Another 30 777-9s, the largest-capacity version of the twin-engine jet, are also included. Qatar has also secured 50 purchase options for the jets.

According to Boeing, ten 787 orders were already in its backlog, but from an undisclosed customer.

In total, the deal should reach $96 billion and also includes only engines supplied by GE Aerospace. While the 777X is powered only by the GE9X turbofan, the Dreamliner uses the GEnx but can also receive the Trent 1000 from Rolls-Royce.

The signing of the agreement was carried out by Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

Qatar Airways is already a major Boeing customer and currently operates 53 787 Dreamliners and 65 first-generation 777s.

In addition, the Persian Gulf carrier already had 10 orders for 787-9s and 94 777X aircraft, which are expected to enter service from 2026.

"We are deeply honored that Qatar Airways has placed this record-breaking order with Boeing, one that solidifies their future fleet with our market-leading widebody airplane family at its center," said Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

"Our team is looking forward to building 787s and 777s for Qatar Airways into the next decade as they connect more people and businesses around the world with unmatched efficiency and comfort."
