Boeing delivered 46 commercial aircraft in January, more than double the 19 jets handed over by Airbus during the month, company data showed.

The total was one aircraft higher than in January last year, when Boeing delivered 45 jets.

The Boeing 737 MAX made up the bulk of deliveries, with 37 aircraft, accounting for about 80% of the total. That figure was three lower than in the same month a year earlier.

Boeing also delivered three 777F freighters, up from one a year earlier, and five 787 Dreamliners, one more than in January last year. One KC-46 tanker was delivered to the U.S. Air Force.

While the year-on-year increase was modest, the January total was well above levels seen in recent years, when Boeing faced safety concerns and production disruptions that constrained output.

Air India Boeing 737 MAX 8 (Air India)

Boeing logged 107 new commercial aircraft orders during the month. The largest deal came from lessor Aviation Capital Group, which ordered 30 737 MAX jets.

Delta Air Lines placed an order for 30 787-10 widebody aircraft, marking the first Dreamliners for its fleet. Air India ordered 20 737 MAX aircraft.

Additional orders included four 787-9s from EVA Air, one 737 MAX from TUI, and one 737 MAX from an undisclosed customer.

Boeing said its backlog stood at 6,196 firm orders as of Jan. 31, 2026.
