The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) awarded Boeing an $877.7 million contract to supply MH-47G Block II helicopters. The agreement covers manufacturing of the aircraft at Boeing’s facilities, with deliveries scheduled through the end of 2030.

This contract supports the ongoing modernization of the US Army’s special operations aviation capabilities. The procurement aims to address evolving mission requirements by introducing advanced platforms into the fleet.

The MH-47G Block II is a specialized derivative of the CH-47 Chinook, designed to meet the needs of the US Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC). Enhancements include a reinforced airframe, redesigned fuel tanks, and updated avionics.

The MH-47G is optimized for tasks such as infiltration, exfiltration, aerial refueling, and command and control operations. Its configuration allows for operations in demanding environments with high survivability.

US Department of Defense budget documents indicate a sustained acquisition program for the MH-47G Block II line through 2030. This long-term approach ensures continuity in special operations aviation readiness.

In October, Boeing also signed a separate $461 million contract with the Pentagon to deliver nine CH-47F helicopters to the US Army, underlining the company’s continued involvement in military rotorcraft programs.
