Air TransportAviation Capital Group (ACG) has finalized a new order for 50 737 MAX aircraft, marking the first commercial aircraft order announced by Boeing in 2026. The agreement covers 25 737-8 and 25 737-10 jets and was disclosed by the lessor on January 13.
Deliveries are planned for 2032 and 2033. With the latest transaction, ACG raises its total 737 MAX order book to 121 aircraft, reinforcing its focus on narrowbody capacity as it responds to airline demand for newer, more fuel-efficient fleets.
According to ACG, the new order supports its long-term portfolio strategy and expands its forward delivery positions across the MAX family. The lessor highlighted the flexibility of operating both the 737-8 and the larger 737-10 to serve a wide range of airline network requirements.
The 737-8 can carty up to 189 passengers and offers a range of 3,500 nautical miles, while the 737-10, the largest variant in the MAX family, can accommodate up to 230 passengers with a range of 3,100 nautical miles.
Following this order, ACG now holds commitments for 50 737-10 aircraft, making it the lessor with the largest backlog for Boeing’s largest single-aisle model. All aircraft will be powered by LEAP-1B engines supplied by CFM International.
“ACG’s expanded order for the 737-10 reflects strong confidence in the airplane and its appeal to the lessor’s customers worldwide,” said Brad McMullen, Boeing senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing.
Founded in 1989, Aviation Capital Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation and manages, owns or has commitments for around 470 aircraft leased to approximately 90 airlines worldwide.
