Bombardier has obtained type certification from Transport Canada for the Global 8000, its new business jet, which is expected to enter service in 2025.

The regulatory approval enables the manufacturer to begin deliveries and positions the Global 8000 among the highest-performing executive jets in the market.

The Global 8000 can fly at a maximum speed of up to Mach 0.95 and offers a range of 8,000 nautical miles (14,800 km) non-stop.

According to the Canadian manufacturer, the model also features a cabin altitude of 2,691 feet at 41,000 feet, the lowest level among executive jets currently in production, and incorporates advanced air recycling and lighting systems.

These technologies aim to mitigate the effects of jet lag and enhance comfort on long-duration flights.

The Global 8000 is slightly delayed compared to its direct rival, the Gulfstream G800, which had its first unit delivered in August.

The American executive jet highlighted its then lowest cabin altitude in the market, at 2,840 feet at 41,000 feet altitude, in addition to an air purification system through ionization that guarantees 100% fresh air in the cabin, according to the manufacturer.

The G800, on the other hand, promises to fly further, with a range of 8,200 nautical miles (15,186 km) at Mach 0.85 or 7,000 miles (12,964 km) at Mach 0.90, with a maximum operational speed of Mach 0.935.
