Breeze Airways, the US low-cost airline founded by David Neeleman, has placed an additional order for 10 A220-300 jets with Airbus.
With the new agreement, the carrier has a firm order for 90 aircraft, of which 21 are already in service.
“Thanks to its world-class performance capabilities, the A220 is the perfect aircraft to help Breeze achieve its goal to provide nonstop service between underserved routes across the United States,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales, Commercial Aircraft, Airbus.
Breeze was launched in May 2021 with a proposal for affordable tickets and tailored service between small and medium-sized cities in the United States.
The debut took place with second-hand Embraer E-Jets aircraft until in December 2021 the first new A220-300 arrived at the airline.
According to Airbus, Breeze plans to operate only with the A220 until the end of 2024.

With 90 jets, Breeze will have the third largest fleet of A220s in the world, an aircraft originally designed by Bombardier as the C Series. In 2018, Airbus acquired the program and renamed it.
As of January, the series, which also includes the smaller capacity A220-100, had 914 firm orders, of which 316 had already been delivered.
