C-390 Millennium has first flight simulator delivered
The C-390 Millennium airlifter now has its first flight simulator. Embraer held the inauguration of the training equipment on Thursday at the Embraer Academy, located at the manufacturer's headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
The simulator was manufactured by Rheinmetall, from Germany, and is qualified as "Level D", which includes operation under normal and emergency conditions, has a support package for military operations and also has more than 350 failure simulations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), the Portuguese Air Force, the two operators of the C-390.

“Brazil, Portugal, and Hungary will be the first countries to use this equipment, which allows the safe practice of maneuvers and emergency procedures, as well as other adverse flight conditions, with reduced costs and without risks to the operation.”
According to Embraer, the Brazilian Air Force's fleet of KC-390 jets has accumulated more than 8,900 flight hours, with an operational availability of around 80%, with a mission completion rate above 99%.
So far, the C-390 Millennium has four customers: Brazil (19 aircraft ordered), Portugal (five), Hungary (2) and the Netherlands, which selected the model, but has not yet signed a contract for five jets.
