Dubai AirshowTwo COMAC C919 passenger jets arrived at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport on November 10, marking the type’s first appearance in the Middle East. The aircraft are set to participate in the Dubai Airshow, running from November 17 to 21.
COMAC’s display consists of two C919s and one C909 in executive configuration, aiming to attract interest from buyers outside China.
The C919s include the manufacturer’s demonstrator, registered with ‘COMAC Express’ livery, and an aircraft operated by China Southern Airlines, registered B-685X.
The Dubai Airshow 2025 is expected to host more than 1,500 exhibitors and over 148,000 visitors, positioning it as a key venue for manufacturers seeking international exposure. COMAC’s participation underscores its ambitions to expand beyond the domestic Chinese market.

The C919 is a narrowbody jet designed to compete with established Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 models. COMAC alleged that has received over 1,000 orders for the type from both domestic and international customers.
Officially, there are just over 300 firm orders from the three largest Chinese carriers, which, like COMAC, are owned by the Chinese government.
Since entering commercial service in China, the C919 has accumulated 18 deliveries across Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines within its first two years of operation.
