CommuteAir, one of the regional airlines in the United Express network, announced that it has extended its agreement with United Airlines to operate its Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft through the end of 2028.
With this, the 64 50-seat jets will continue to operate regional flights for the U.S. carrier.
CommuteAir, which just opened a new, larger headquarters in Westlake, Ohio, in Cleveland, is an exclusive partner of United and flies to cities in the U.S. Midwest.
“Combined with the recent extension of our flying contract with United Airlines, this moves us to continue connecting communities and offering attractive aviation jobs for years to come,” said Rick Hoefling, CEO of CommuteAir.

The company was founded in 1989 as CommutAir and flew for the now defunct USAir (later acquired by American Airlines).
In 2000, the regional airline became an affiliate of Continental Airlines and 10 years later began operating for United after the two airlines merged.
The CommuteAir name was adopted in 2022 and today the company operates primarily from Cleveland, Denver, Houston and Washington (Dulles).
In addition to the 64 ERJ 146s, the airline also has a single Embraer E170 used for charters.
