Air TransportCroatia Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-100, making it only the fifth airline in the world to operate the smaller variant of the A220 series.
The aircraft arrived in Zagreb on September 29 after departing from Montreal. The A220-100, configured with 127 seats, was delivered under a lease agreement with Air Lease.
Croatia Airlines plans to acquire up to 15 A220s, complementing the six A220-300 aircraft already received. The introduction of these new jets is part of a broader strategy to modernize the carrier’s fleet, which began in 2024.

According to Airbus, more than 70 A220-100s have been delivered worldwide. Delta Air Lines is the largest operator, with 45 units in service. Other airlines operating the model include Swiss and ITA.
LOT Polish Airlines will be a new customer after signed a agreement for 20 A220-100 and 20 A220-300.
The total number of orders for the A220-100 has reached 118 units by August 2025.
