Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto met with Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense, Paweł Bejda, on Monday.
According to the Polish government, the meeting was for the Brazilian company to present proposals “for new air platforms that may equip the Polish Armed Forces in the future.”
As expected, Poland is seeking not only new aircraft such as the C-390 Millennium, but also for Embraer to establish industrial cooperation with the European country.

According to a statement, Paweł Bejda emphasized that Poland is looking for technological partners capable of supporting the modernization process of the armed forces.
The talks come amid statements by US President Donald Trump indicating that the country may reduce military support for NATO, of which Poland is a member.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has recently stated that Europe should seek independence in the defense of the continent.
The Polish Air Force intends to replace 10 C-130E/H Hercules turboprops with a new tactical transport aircraft and has been evaluating the C-390 Millennium since at least last year.

Embraer, however, appears to have proposed other solutions, as suggested in the government statement. Possible aircraft could include the A-29N Super Tucano light attack aircraft and perhaps an airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) system.
The country has acquired two used Saab 340 AEWs that belonged to the United Arab Emirates as a way to quickly bolster its air patrols.
