Air TransportEmbraer has delivered the 50th E195-E2 aircraft to Porter Airlines, reinforcing the airline’s position as the largest global operator of the type.
Porter Airlines received its first two E2 aircraft in December 2022 and holds firm orders for 75 E195-E2s, with purchase rights for 25 more. The E195-E2 has supported Porter’s strategy to expand its network beyond traditional regional routes.
The introduction of the E195-E2 allowed Porter to enter new markets in North America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America. This season, the carrier will launch 13 new routes to destinations including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Liberia (Costa Rica), departing from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Hamilton.

“Since Porter’s founding in 2006, we have consistently focused on raising the bar for our passengers by proving that economy flying can and should be pleasurable for everyone,” said Michael Deluce, President & CEO of Porter Airlines. The company aims to extend its network to popular leisure destinations in the south.
“Porter Airlines is a true disruptor in North American travel,” stated Nigel Patterson, Vice President Sales & Marketing and Head of Region North America at Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Before acquiring the E195-E2, Porter Airlines operated a fleet of Dash 8 turboprops on a limited regional network. The carrier previously signed a memorandum of understanding with Bombardier for the CSeries (now Airbus A220), but this agreement did not materialize.
