Hunnu Air completed the maiden flight of its new E195-E2 commercial aircraft, Embraer revealed.
The 136-seat aircraft flew between Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar and Beijing (Daxing) on May 9. On Sunday, the E2 also completed a round-trip flight to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Friday’s flight was the first scheduled flight for an E2 in China, one of Embraer’s most eager markets for orders.
The Mongolian carrier has entered into a leasing agreement for two E195-E2s with Azorra and took delivery of the first aircraft in April. The second aircraft is expected to be delivered in October.

Hunnu is already a long-standing Embraer customer, with two leased E190s in service in recent years.
The E2 is expected to be introduced to destinations such as Haikou (China), Sanya (China) and Phu Quoc (Vietnam). In addition, the jets will enable the company to expand its routes to more destinations in Japan, China, Vietnam, India, South Korea and also to inaugurate a route to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
“The launch of this route with our new E195-E2 aircraft reflects Hunnu Air’s determination to expand our international network and symbolizes the deepening friendship and collaboration between Mongolia and China in this new era,” said Munkhjargal Purevjal, CEO of Hunnu Air.
“Today, we take immense pride in the launch of this route with Hunnu Air’s new E195-E2, the first E2 jet to operate in mainland China. The deployment of the E195-E2 on this key route underscores the depth of our partnership with Hunnu Air and our shared responsibility to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations,” added Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
