Embraer on Tuesday introduced the Praetor 500E and Praetor 600E, updated versions of its midsize and super-midsize business jets, shifting the emphasis from performance gains to cabin technology and passenger experience.

After weeks of teasing what it described as a major development in executive aviation, the Brazilian manufacturer revealed that the changes center largely on comfort, connectivity and cabin control rather than new range or speed figures.

The most visible addition is a 42-inch 4K OLED “Smart Window” screen, available as an option on the Praetor 600E. The display can function as a digital window through three externally mounted cameras or as a productivity and entertainment screen supporting video conferencing and high-resolution streaming. Embraer said the feature is exclusive to the model within its segment.

Both aircraft receive a redesigned cabin and a new Cabin Management System (CMS), allowing passengers to control temperature, lighting, airflow, audio and video through multiple interfaces, including a mobile app. The system also supports Bluetooth audio, wireless charging and optional voice commands. Smart Switch panels are integrated at each seat position.

Seating has been re-engineered, with adjustable cushion firmness, dual lumbar support and updated headrests. Embraer also introduced a divan configuration that converts into a bed, along with a revised berthing process intended to speed transitions between seating and rest modes.

The galley on the Praetor 600E and refreshment area on the 500E have been expanded to accommodate additional catering for longer missions, with increased storage and disposal capacity.

Renovated cabin of the Praetor family

Despite the interior overhaul, performance figures remain unchanged. The Praetor 600E retains a maximum range of 4,108 nautical miles (7,441 km), placing it in the upper tier of the super-midsize category. The Praetor 500E continues to occupy the midsize segment with similar operational capabilities to the current model.

The family retains Embraer’s full fly-by-wire flight controls, active turbulence reduction and Enhanced Vision System. The updated models also incorporate the Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS), aimed at increasing situational awareness during landing operations.

Temperature control

Embraer said the Praetor 500E and 600E are already available for order, with first deliveries scheduled for 2029.

The executive aviation division has been one of Embraer’s strongest performing units in recent years, with 155 aircraft delivered in 2025 and a reported backlog of $7.6 billion at the end of the fourth quarter. The introduction of the “E” variants marks the first major update to the Praetor family since its launch in 2018.
