Air TransportEmirates released a YouTube video offering a brief preview of its Boeing 777X cabin interiors. The five-second segment, included in ‘The Success Story of Sir Tim Clark’ at around 7:45, features new business class suites with sliding doors and a dedicated lounge area.
The cabin reveal highlights Emirates’ ongoing investment in premium offerings on future long-haul aircraft. Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates, has expressed frustration with the pace of the program, stating he is ‘not happy’ and that Boeing must ‘get its act together.’

Emirates initially ordered 150 Boeing 777X aircraft in 2013, comprising 115 777-9s and 35 777-8s. The first deliveries were scheduled for 2020 but have faced multiple delays.
In 2023, Emirates supplemented its backlog with a firm order for 90 additional 777X units, including 55 777-9s and 35 777-8s. This expanded the airline’s total 777X commitment to 270 aircraft with deliveries now expected through 2038.

The airline remains the world’s largest customer for the 777X program, which has suffered numerous delays, caused by problems with GE engines, engine mounts and also tougher demands from the FAA following the crashes of two 737 MAXs and Boeing’s confidence crisis.
The planemaker, however, is betting that it will achieve type certification for the widebody by the end of 2026.
