Emirates expands retrofitted fleet, adds more flights to key destinations

Premium Economy rollout continues as demand drives schedule upgrades across Asia, Europe, and South America

Emirates Airline is scaling up its global operations with a new wave of retrofitted Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, bringing its new Premium Economy cabin and upgraded onboard products to more cities starting October 26.

Key changes include a third daily flight to Milan, the upgrade of Rio de Janeiro–Buenos Aires services to daily, and the deployment of A380s on routes to Shanghai and Singapore. The airline will also introduce Premium Economy on the Zurich–Dubai route beginning February 2026.

These upgrades are part of Emirates’ fleet modernisation programme which includes the refurbishment of all cabin classes, including enhanced seat configurations, new inflight entertainment systems and a dedicated Premium Economy Class section on the A380’s main deck.

According to the Dubai-based airline, the modernisation programme has been progressing with one aircraft undergoing a complete overhaul every three weeks.

To date, 60 aircraft have been upgraded since the programme began in November 2022, out of a total of 256 777 and A380 widebodies.
