Emirates SkyCargo orders five more Boeing 777F freighters
Emirates SkyCargo has closed the purchase of five more 777F freighters, Boeing announced on Tuesday, joining a previous order for five aircraft.
The new order will see Emirates Airline’s cargo division have 12 777Fs in its fleet, in addition to nine 777s converted to freighters.
“Demand for our world-class product and services is growing exponentially, further amplified by Dubai’s Economic Agenda which aims to double foreign trade and reinforce the city’s position as a global trading hub. This investment in additional Boeing 777 capacity enables us to cater to customer demand and marks a step forward on our long-term strategic growth plan,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group.
Al Maktoum also stated that the company’s next step will be to evaluate options to renew the freighter fleet, which opens up the possibility of a new order for the 777-8F, an aircraft that will replace the 777F from 2028.

Boeing has achieved good orders for the 777F in 2024, with 12 aircraft negotiated, 11 of them in June, including a sale of four jets to Turkish Airlines.
The 777 Freighter can fly distances of 9,200 kilometers/4,970 nautical miles and carry 102 metric tons/112 tons.
To date, Boeing has delivered 265 777Fs, making it its best-selling cargo plane of all time.
