Emirates has introduced a new special Airbus A380 livery celebrating its sponsorship of all four Grand Slam tennis tournaments. The design features four circular graphics, each referencing one of the majors — Australian Open, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open — applied to a single aircraft in the fleet.

The aircraft involved is A6-EUH, an Airbus A380-861 with manufacturer serial number 220, delivered to Emirates in November 2016. Powered by four Engine Alliance GP7200 engines, the jet remains in active service and has already operated long-haul flights following the application of the new livery.

Emirates operates the world’s largest A380 fleet, with 116 aircraft delivered. According to Planespotters data, 98 of those aircraft are currently active, highlighting the airline’s continued reliance on the type well after production ended.

Although the A380 line was closed by Airbus in 2021, the aircraft continues to play a visible role in Emirates’ operations and branding. Beyond its commercial use, the superjumbo has become a recurring platform for special liveries, reflecting how the type has evolved into a high-profile marketing asset alongside its remaining operational role.

Emirates has a long track record of using the A380 as a platform for special liveries tied to sponsorships and corporate initiatives. Over the years, individual aircraft have carried designs linked to major sports partnerships, global events hosted in Dubai, wildlife conservation campaigns and humanitarian causes supported by the airline.

The superjumbo’s large surface area and high visibility on long-haul routes have made it a recurring choice for such initiatives within the fleet.
