Argentine ultra low cost carrier Flybondi will launch direct flights between Puerto Iguazú and Lima starting in December. The new service marks the airline’s third international route not routed through Buenos Aires.

The route will operate four times per week, with departures scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Tickets are expected to go on sale on Flybondi’s website in the coming week.

This addition aims to facilitate greater international tourist flows to the Misiones region and Peru by providing direct service between northeastern Argentina and the Peruvian capital. The company expects the route to have a positive effect on local sectors such as hospitality, gastronomy, transport, and retail in Puerto Iguazú.

Flybondi’s fleet consists of 14 Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, each configured for 189 passengers in a single-class layout. Since launching operations in 2018, the airline has transported over 16 million passengers, with 20% reportedly flying for the first time.

The carrier currently serves 17 domestic destinations in Argentina and offers international flights to five cities in Brazil and one in Paraguay. In July, Flybondi held a 17% share of the domestic market and 3% in the regional market. The company also manages 80% of its ground handling services at airports where it operates.

With this new route, Flybondi continues to diversify its international network and reduce dependency on Buenos Aires as the main hub. The airline is expected to release more operational details and sales information in the coming days.
