Air TransportMongolian small airline Hunnu Air is back in the spotlight after debuting its first Embraer E195-E2. This time, the Buyant-Ukhaa-based carrier has secured a new aircraft order with Textron Aviation.
The agreement makes it the first customer for the SkyCourier model in Asia, receiving two passenger-configured aircraft. Hunnu Air also acquired a single-engine Grand Caravan EX; deliveries are scheduled for 2026.
“Designed for versatility and performance, the Cessna SkyCourier is a strong fit to support Hunnu Air’s services across Mongolia,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing. “The increasing global popularity of the aircraft underscores its exceptional adaptability in supporting air freight, charter, and special mission use cases, showcasing its broad appeal across diverse operational sectors.”
With the new order, Textron finally begins seeking more operators outside the US, a market where the SkyCourier was delivered exclusively between 2022 and 2025.

In January, Canada’s Air Bravo was the first customer outside the US to receive the twin-engine utility freighter, while in May, the SkyCourier debuted in Brazil with the Combi version.
Aircraft deliveries, however, have been low. After a peak of 18 SkyCouriers in 2024, Textron delivered 12 aircraft last year. By June, it had delivered five aircraft.
At Hunnu Air, the new Cessnas will join three Embraer jets and an ATR 42 regional turboprop.
According to the US manufacturer, the SkyCourier will be used on VIP flights to remote locations in the Himalayas.
