Air TransportGerman Airways unveils a special Embraer E190-100LR, registration D-AMWO, featuring a DTM livery as part of a partnership to promote the touring car series. The initiative was announced ahead of the DTM race at Hockenheim, scheduled for October 3-5.
The DTM, short for (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, German Touring Car Masters), is one of Europe’s premier touring car championships. Established in the 1980s, it features high-performance cars that resemble production models from major manufacturers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes, but are built with cutting-edge racing technology.
The aircraft operates regular routes within Germany and to Amsterdam, now displaying both the DTM logo and the Ford Mustang GT3 design associated with driver Fabio Scherer. The custom livery extends to the aircraft’s interior, marking a visible collaboration between the airline and the motorsport series.

A press event held at Cologne-Bonn Airport presented the aircraft to the media, with DTM drivers attending. German Airways, the country’s second-oldest airline, currently operates a fleet of eight Embraer regional jets and holds memberships in IATA and ERA, indicating adherence to established safety and service standards.
The partnership aims to increase DTM’s visibility ahead of the Hockenheimring event, where German Airways is also an official event partner and will host a dedicated lounge for guests. The joint project is expected to reach motorsport fans at airports and onboard flights in the coming weeks.
German Airways has taken over flights for European airlines such as Finnair, Air France-KLM, LOT and easyJet, among others.
