Global Airlines has launched a pre-sale of tickets for the inaugural flights of its only Airbus A380 so far.

The aircraft, which is being prepared to resume commercial operations in Portugal, is scheduled to operate two special flights, one between Manchester and New York and another between Glasgow and the same city in the United States.

Those interested in participating in these flights must register on GA.Flights website to be “the first people to be invited to book their tickets in a private pre-sale,” the company says.

Pre-sale will be available 24 hours before tickets are released to the public. The A380, which is still being updated to offer a cabin similar to the company’s, has three classes of service.

The flight from Glasgow is scheduled to depart at 11:00 a.m. from the Scottish city and land at 1:00 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) on May 15.

The return flight will take place on May 19, departing at 8:00 a.m. and arriving in Scotland at 7:15 p.m.

The Manchester-NY route is scheduled for May 21, departing at 12:25 p.m. and arriving in the US city at 2:25 p.m. The return flight will take place four days later, on May 25, departing at 8:55 a.m. and landing at 8:40 p.m.

Flights operated by Hi Fly

As it does not yet have an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from the British authorities, Global Airlines will use the services of Hi Fly, a Portuguese airline specializing in ACMI and charter flights.

“Onboard the cabins have all been overhauled to give a brand-new look and feel. The catering team has been busy preparing a new menu and there will be special ‘limited edition’ amenity kits in all cabins, for all passengers,” says Global.

The company plans to offer First and Business class passengers the complimentary option of booking a chauffeur to take them to the airport.

Scheduled flights are expected to begin in 2025 and Global has announced plans to connect London to New York, competing with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and US carriers.
