A Gol Linhas Aéreas Boeing 737 MAX 8 had its landing gear catching fire after landing at Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro, on flight G3 2023, originating from Florianópolis this Saturday, the 17th.
The wheels of the right landing gear caught fire, possibly after the brakes overheated.
The aircraft received foam jets from fire trucks shortly after reaching the landing bridge. Videos show the work of the firefighters.

Flight G3 2023 was operated by a 737 MAX registered as PS-GPQ, according to data from FlightRadar24. There was no confirmation that the jet was in fact the one affected by the fire at the time of this article’s publication.
PS-GPQ is an older 737 that first flew in April 2016 and was used by Boeing as a test aircraft for several years.

It was stored between November 2021 and July 2024 and was even prepared for delivery to Southwest Airlines, which did not occur.
Gol received the 737 MAX 8 in January of this year and put it into service on February 5.
