Gulfstream Aerospace announced that its new G300 business jet completed its first flight on December 5 at Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel. The aircraft took off at 8:05 a.m. and remained airborne for 2 hours and 25 minutes, reaching Mach 0.75 at 30,000 ft.

The G300 enters the flight test phase following more than 2,000 hours of ground testing. Gulfstream describes the aircraft as a new entrant to the super-midsize segment, with a focus on safety, technology, and cabin experience.

Replacement of the G280, the G300 features the largest cabin in its class, accommodating up to 10 passengers with two distinct living areas. Cabin altitude is 4,800 ft at a cruising altitude of 41,000 ft, supported by 100% fresh air and an air ionization system.

Performance specifications include a maximum range of 3,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.80 and 3,000 nm at Mach 0.84. The aircraft is equipped with the Harmony Flight Deck, which incorporates six touchscreens and a synthetic vision system to enhance situational awareness.

“With its combination of safety, technology, performance and cabin comfort, the G300 is a game-changer for the super-midsize segment,” said Mark Burns, Gulfstream president.

Gulfstream positions the G300 against competitors such as the Bombardier Challenger 3500, aiming to strengthen its presence in the super-midsize market. The company is focused on delivering the first aircraft starting in 2027.
