An Indian Air Force Tejas fighter crashed during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show at Al Maktoum International Airport at approximately 14:10 local time on November 21.

Eyewitnesses reported black smoke rising above the airfield following the incident, which occurred as the biennial event was underway.

The Tejas, developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), was conducting a flight display when the aircraft entered a steep dive from which the pilot appeared unable to recover.

Video footage shows the fighter impacting the ground at high speed and exploding, with no clear evidence of pilot ejection prior to the crash.

This incident is the second involving a Tejas fighter, following a previous crash near Jaisalmer in 2024.

The Tejas serves as a lightweight multirole combat aircraft in the Indian Air Force fleet, representing a key element of India’s indigenous defense manufacturing capabilities.
