Indian company Adani Aerospace said it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Embraer in December 2025 to establish a final assembly line for regional jets in India, according to The Times of India. The Brazilian planemaker, however, has not yet confirmed the agreement,

The MoU aims to produce Embraer’s E175, E190-E2, and E195-E2 commercial jets, which seat between 70 and 146 passengers. The proposed location and investment have not been disclosed, with a formal announcement expected later in January at the Hyderabad airshow.

An Indian government official stated, “Several things are under consideration, including fiscal incentives for those ordering from this FAL. Like any new programme, the idea is to give incentives on a reducing basis as the orders grow, say, after every 50 orders placed.”

Gautam Sahni, managing director of Subha Aviation, commented, “I am awaiting clearance from govt and can’t comment any further. But it’s a fact that the Indian regional aviation market is gearing up for massive growth thanks to new airports opening in tier II and III cities and the focus on the subsidised Udan scheme.”

Raul Villaron, senior vice president at Embraer, said, “We believe India will require 500 such aircraft in the next 20 years.”

Embraer currently operates almost 50 aircraft in India across commercial, defense, and business aviation. The company has a separate partnership with Mahindra focused on the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft.

Adani Aerospace is the defense and aerospace arm of the Adani Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Ahmedabad. The group is active in sectors including airport management, power generation, natural resources, and defense manufacturing—producing unmanned aerial vehicles and small arms through joint ventures and acquisitions.
