Airbus has completed the paint job of the Indonesian Air Force’s first A400M at its facility in Seville, Spain.
The aircraft is part of an order for two turboprop transports placed in 2022 and will be delivered by the end of the year.
The two A400Ms will perform a wide range of missions, including strategic and tactical airlift, medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, and aerial refueling.
The Indonesian Air Force operates a wide range of transport aircraft ranging from the small C212 to the Airbus C295, and includes 20 C-130 Hercules and five new C-130Js, both from Lockheed Martin.

Some C212s and C295s were assembled in Indonesia itself, by the former IPTN (Indonesia Aerospace).
In September 2023, Indonesia announced the selection of the A330 MRTT as an aerial refueling aircraft after a competition with the Boeing KC-46, however, no contract has been signed to date.
As of April, Airbus had 178 orders for the A400M, of which 131 aircraft had been delivered.
However, the aircraft basically depends on orders from the manufacturer’s partner countries, which together have an agreement for at least 130 turboprops.
