Air TransportJetBlue and United Airlines have initiated a new loyalty partnership under the Blue Sky banner, allowing members of their TrueBlue and MileagePlus programs to earn and redeem points or miles across both networks.
The US carriers announced that the initial phase of reciprocal benefits is now live for customers booking flights through their respective channels.
“With reciprocal earning and redemption now available, Blue Sky is officially taking flight,” the airlines said in a joint statement. “We’re excited to give our loyalty members the ability to use the program of their choice when traveling across our complementary networks.”
The collaboration enables TrueBlue members to access United’s global network for earning and redeeming points, while MileagePlus members gain similar access to JetBlue’s routes.
Customers can view and select flight options from both airlines when searching for award travel, streamlining the booking experience within each carrier’s platform.

Previously, both airlines operated standalone loyalty programs with limited cross-partner benefits. The current initiative advances their commercial alignment, presenting expanded opportunities for frequent flyers as the industry increasingly focuses on customer retention and network connectivity.
Members can input their loyalty numbers when booking flights with either carrier, but all redemptions must be processed through the respective airline’s website. This approach maintains platform integrity while facilitating cross-carrier rewards.
The companies have stated that additional reciprocal perks, such as priority boarding and preferred seating, are scheduled for introduction in 2026.
JetBlue will also support United’s future expansion at JFK, and the transition of MileagePlus Travel to Paisly, LLC is planned for the same period. The Blue Sky partnership is positioned to create broader growth opportunities and further integration in subsequent phases.
