Air TransportKLM Cityhopper took delivery of its 25th Embraer E195-E2 at Schiphol Airport on September 27. The new aircraft entered commercial service on the 29th with a flight to Trondheim.
According to KLM Cityhopper Director Maarten Koopmans, the Embraer 195-E2 is now considered the flagship of the airline’s fleet. “This aircraft truly represents the flagship of our KLM Cityhopper fleet. It consumes less fuel and is considerably quieter than its predecessor. In addition, ergonomically designed seats, increased legroom, USB ports, and larger overhead bins offer our passengers enhanced comfort”, he said.
The jet seats up to 136 passengers, making it the largest aircraft in KLM Cityhopper’s current lineup. The airline now operates 61 aircraft serving 80 European destinations.

The Embraer 195-E2 offers notable improvements in efficiency and environmental performance compared to older models. It consumes 15% less fuel and emits 34% less CO₂ per passenger than the Embraer E190. The aircraft is also 63% quieter, resulting in lower noise pollution at airports. The first aircraft joined KLM Cityhopper in February 2021.
The Dutch carrier also has Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft on the way, ten of which have already been delivered.
In terms of widebody aircraft, KLM has added new Boeing 787s to its fleet and expects the arrival of the first Airbus A350 in 2026, followed by the introduction of the A350F freighters in 2027.
