Korean Air to debut Airbus A350-900 on Japan flights on January 27
Korean Air will deploy its first two Airbus A350-900 wide-bodies starting Monday, initially on short-haul flights to Japan.
The two aircraft delivered by Airbus last December are scheduled to take over flights from Seoul (Incheon) to Osaka and Fukuoka.
The inaugural flight HL8598 will take place on the morning of January 27 to Osaka while the second flight (HL8597) is scheduled for the afternoon of the same day.
The South Korean carrier plans to launch flights to Taipei, Taiwan, in March, in preparation for taking over long-haul routes.
This is expected to happen only in the second half of the year, with flights to Madrid and Rome in Europe.
Korean Air’s A350-900s are configured with 311 seats in two classes – 28 in Prestige Business Class and 283 in Economy Class.
Korean Air closed a deal for 33 A350 jets with Airbus in April 2024. Six of the aircraft are the A350-900 and 27 are the A350-1000, which has a larger passenger capacity.
