Global aviation lessor Avolon has placed a major order with Airbus for 75 A321neo and 15 A330neo aircraft, with deliveries scheduled through 2033. The agreement also grants purchase rights for another 25 A321neo and options for 15 additional A330neo, boosting Avolon’s total commitment to 413 Airbus aircraft across the A320neo and A330neo families.

According to Airbus, the A321neo offers 20% lower fuel burn and CO₂ emissions and up to 50% less noise compared to previous-generation single-aisle jets. With a maximum capacity of 244 passengers and a range of 7,400 km, it caters to a wide range of routes.

Meanwhile, Avolon has 33 A330neos delivered to date; the new order brings its A330neo tally to 55. The A330neo delivers over 13,300 km range with 25% fuel and CO₂ emission savings.

“This order demonstrates our strong confidence in long-term demand for new aircraft… we are delighted to expand our long-term partnership with Airbus,” said Avolon CEO Andy Cronin.

Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry added: “Lessors are excellent barometers of the aircraft market (…) This commitment illustrates the strong attractiveness of these aircraft, the most efficient in their category, covering domestic to regional to long-haul routes.”

The firm order is subject to shareholder approval by Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd.—Avolon’s 70 % owner—expected by August 2025.

Avolon currently serves 142 airlines across 60 countries, with a fleet of 1,166 owned, managed, or committed aircraft (excluding this new order).
