A LOT Polish Airlines Embraer E170 operating flight LO771 from Warsaw overran the runway while landing at Vilnius Airport at 13:42 local time on Wednesday. The incident occurred during snowy conditions and involved aircraft SP-LDK.

Emergency vehicles, including a fire engine, attended the aircraft, and all passengers were safely disembarked. Vilnius Airport suspended operations until at least 15:00 UTC as response teams secured the scene.

The aircraft involved, SP-LDK, entered service with LOT in 2005 and features a single-class layout with 76 seats. The E170 is part of LOT’s current regional jet fleet, widely used on short-haul European routes.

LOT has announced plans to begin replacing its Embraer E-Jet fleet with Airbus A220 aircraft starting in 2027. The fleet transition is set to modernize the airline’s regional operations and align with broader industry trends.
