Embraer announced that the Polish company LOTAMS will be responsible for the first Embraer Authorized Service Center (EASC) for the E2 aircraft family in Europe.
Services will begin as soon as the Polish Civil Aviation Authority completes the audit process and issues the operating authorization.
According to Embraer, it will provide routine checks, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and component repairs for the E2 family, which includes the E190-E2 and the E195-E2.
LOT’s technical base until 2010, LOTAMS has been a partner of the Brazilian manufacturer since 2002, but in 2012 it became the EASC for the first-generation ERJ and E-Jets.

“Since then, LOTAMS has supplied Embraer E-Jets from airlines across Europe, with an average of 250,000 hours/year in heavy and line maintenance checks,” Embraer said.
LOTAMS currently has five E-Jets maintenance bays and can add more if needed to service the E2 fleet.
“Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this project and to certify our facilities as an authorized E2 aircraft maintenance center. This continues the long-standing cooperation established at the inception of LOTAMS. With the certification process complete, we are ready to provide maintenance services for the E2 fleet across Europe,” said Ewa Kołowiecka, CEO of LOTAMS.

Despite serving customers across Europe, the appointment of LOTAMS is yet another effort by Embraer to expand its partnership in Poland.
The Brazilian company recently toured the country, offering the promise of investment if its aircraft are selected for important tenders.
One of them is for an order for tactical transport aircraft by the air force, for which the C-390 Millennium is competing.

The other is a long-awaited order from LOT Polish Airlines, Poland’s flag carrier, which may acquire 84 aircraft with up to 150 seats.
The E2 is competing for the contract with the Airbus A220 and a decision is expected soon. LOT already operates 47 Embraer aircraft, including three leased E195-E2s.
