New Embraer customer BermudAir receives its first E175 jet
On the night of Saturday, August 19, the first Embraer E175 jet from BermudAir, landed in Bermuda.
The aircraft registered VQ-BLU had taken off from Canada, where it is being prepared for its debut. The jet is one of two leased by BermudAir from Azorra Aviation and previously flown by FlyBe in the UK.
Despite the formal delivery, the E175 will return to Canada to finalize its debut preparations. BermudAir recently obtained an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the local civil aviation authority, the BCAA.
BermudAir is now in the process of establishing the first routes to the United States. Among the intended destinations are New York, Boston and cities in Florida.

That's why the E175 will only seat 30 passengers instead of 76 seats, as is common in US regional airlines.
BermudAir, the first airline to be founded in the archipelago, belongs to Canadian banker Adam Scott and is supported by citizens of Bermuda, the UK's overseas territory.
With a total area of 53 km², the archipelago is inhabited by just over 60,000 people but is a popular tourist destination in the Atlantic Ocean.
