Owner of 12 E2 jets, Helvetic Airways acquires four first-generation leased Embraer E190s
Helvetic Airways holds an exclusivity on Embraer's new E2 jets. It is the only carrier to operate both the E190-E2 and the E195-E2, the two versions of the family.
There are currently eight E190-E2 and four E195-E2, which were recently received after Helvetic changed its original order, opting for the variant for up to 146 passengers.
Due to the new planes, the Swiss airline decided to reduce its fleet of first generation E-Jets, but the great demand for flights made Helvetic make a surprising move.
The four E190s that still operate in its fleet through leasing were purchased from the company Airfleet Credit Corporation, as revealed by Aero Telegraph, quoting a spokesman for Helvetic.
Helvetic does not operate its own flight network, instead providing wet-leasing services to other airlines such as Swiss, providing the aircraft and crew to bolster its customers' services.
Helvetic's financial results are so positive that they have motivated the company's CEO, Tobias Pogorevc, to propose a CHF 500 bonus and a salary increase of 3.5% to 5% starting in 2023.
Pogorevc's announcement was made this Thursday, the 24th, during the airline's anticipated Christmas party.
