Republic Airlines shrinks E175 orders on 31 aircraft

Republic Airlines is no longer the biggest customer of the Embraer E175. According to a report on deliveries and orders by the Brazilian manufacturer released on Monday, the regional airline reduced its orders from 223 to 192 aircraft.

The withdrawal of 31 planes from the carrier is not mentioned in the statement sent by Embraer, but they should be discussed during the results conference that will take place on Friday, November 11th.

The E175 is currently Embraer's best-selling commercial jet in its history, with 817 firm orders from 26 customers, mostly US regional airlines, as it is the only aircraft in production that meets the scope clauses in force in the country.

Embraer delivered 10 commercial jets in the third quarter, nine of them E175 model, all to Skywest, which has now become its biggest customer.

E2 reach 247 firm orders

The new E2 family, in turn, had the delivery of only one aircraft, an E195-E2 to the lessor Air Castle, which had been passed on to KLM Cityhopper. The aircraft was the 1,700th E-Jet delivered by Embraer since 2004, when the model entered service.

While the E175 backlog has shrunk, Embraer has almost made up for these losses with new orders for the E195-E2. The expansion of the agreement with Porter Airlines, of Canada, added 20 aircraft to the portfolio and SalamAir, of Oman, closed an order for six aircraft in September. With that, the total of orders for the E2 for 247 planes, 20 of them for the E190-E2.

Embraer may expand on these figures soon, when Royal Jordanian signs the firm purchase agreement for 10 E2s whose Memorandum of Understanding was announced in October.
