Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is set to announce orders for Boeing and Airbus jets at the Paris Air Show next week, Reuters sources said.
In addition to adding to its existing fleets of 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner, Morocco’s flag carrier is also looking to sign a deal for around 20 Airbus A220 jets.
If confirmed, the order would be a major blow to Embraer as RAM is a customer of the E-Jet family.

The potential deal with Airbus has been expected for weeks after French newspaper La Tribune revealed that the African airline was about to place a large order for commercial aircraft from the manufacturer.
Royal Air Maroc currently operates a fleet of 54 aircraft, including 32 Boeing 737s, 11 787s, one 767 freighter, six ATR 72 turboprops and four Embraer E190 jets.
The airline aims to have a fleet of 200 aircraft by 2037, in addition to strengthening its network in preparation for the FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Morocco, Portugal and Spain in 2030.
