DefenseRussia and Belarus are exploring joint production of the Sukhoi Su-75 Checkmate fighter, officials told the press at the Dubai Airshow.
The initiative is oriented toward international markets, particularly in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. For Belarus, involvement in the Su-75 project offers an opportunity to strengthen its position within Russia’s defense industrial network.
The Su-75 has been under development by Sukhoi since 2021, but the program has progressed slowly. The platform is intended as a single-engine, low-observable fighter with a payload capacity exceeding 7,000 kg.
Declared performance specifications include a top speed of Mach 1.8, a combat radius of nearly 3,000 km, and a service ceiling of 16,500 meters.
“The tests of the Su-75 are planned for the beginning of 2026,” said Sergey Bogdan, chief of services of flight at Sukhoi to the Russian media.
The Su-75 was first unveiled at the MAKS airshow in 2021 and had its international debut at the Dubai Airshow during the same year.
