Safran has agreed to sell its 50% stake in EZAir, its aircraft interiors joint venture with Embraer, transferring full ownership of the business to the Brazilian airframer.

Under the definitive agreement announced on January 19, 2026, Embraer will acquire Safran Cabin’s shares in EZAir, a 50/50 joint venture that manufactures aircraft interiors for Embraer programs at its facility in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The deal also includes associated aftermarket activities, as well as related engineering and manufacturing operations in Brazil.

The Chihuahua site employs around 1,100 people and produces cabin components such as luggage bins and galleys for Embraer’s E1 and E2 E-Jet families. Following completion of the transaction, the facility will be wholly owned by Embraer.

Activities carried out by Safran Cabin Brazil that are dedicated to Embraer programs will also be transferred to Embraer. Engineering services in Brazil that are not linked to Embraer aircraft will remain under Safran’s control.

Safran did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
