Following an order for 30 Boeing 737 MAX announced during US President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia, lessor AviLease is reportedly close to closing a similar deal with Airbus.
According to Reuters sources, the company is expected to announce an order for A320neo jets during the Paris Airshow this month, but the number of planes is not known.
AviLease is also tipped to close a deal for the A350F, a widebody freighter currently under development that will be capable of carrying more than 110 tonnes over distances of up to 4,700 nm (8,700 km).

At the same time, rumors have been mounting that Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air, is close to a deal with Airbus for around 50 A350 jets.
The decision to opt for the Airbus aircraft is said to be motivated by delays in Boeing’s 777X program.
Riyadh Air is expected to make its first flights in late 2025 with a fleet of Boeing 787s. The airline has also acquired A321neo jets for short- and medium-haul routes.
