Scoot, the Singapore-based low-cost airline, has reported robust demand and positive operational results from its Embraer E190-E2 fleet since launching service with the type in May 2024.

The carrier, which is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, currently operates seven E190-E2 aircraft, with deliveries of two additional jets scheduled by the end of 2025. The seventh E190-E2 arrived on August 11, 2025, while the next two will be supplied by leasing company Azzora before year-end.

Scoot CEO Leslie Thng, the E190-E2 jets have performed well both commercially and operationally since their introduction, according to reports.

Scoot began E190-E2 operations on May 7, 2024, with inaugural flights from Singapore to Krabi and Hat Yai in Thailand. The 112-seat aircraft are now deployed to various regional destinations, including Miri, Melaka, and Sibu in Malaysia, as well as cities in Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Looking ahead, Scoot plans to introduce twice-weekly flights between Singapore and Nha Trang, Vietnam, starting November 21, with frequency increasing to five weekly services by January 2026. Additionally, the airline will commence twice-weekly flights to Kota Bharu, Malaysia, from October 26.

The E190-E2 is used by Scoot to serve short and medium-haul routes with lower passenger demand, complementing the airline’s mixed fleet. Scoot operates a total of 59 aircraft, including 29 Airbus A320 family jets, 23 Boeing 787 widebodies, and the seven E190-E2s. The addition of the E190-E2 enhances flexibility in matching capacity to demand across Southeast Asia.
